Belly Chedi / ベリー・チェディ（腹出たチェディ）
Belly chedi is at Wat Koh Klung in Pasan district. The four niches protrude much further than those on
other chedis, hence it is called "Belly chedi". Beautiful stucco decorations of mythical creatures and
intertwined botanical patterns are visible around the frames of the various niches. I wonder what kind of
colors were there!
パサン郡にあるワット・コ・クランのベリー・チェディと呼ばれる仏塔です。壁がんが四方にあり、通常の仏塔より遠くへ
突き出しているためこの名前で呼ばれています。壁がんの上に空想上の生き物と, 絡み合う植物の文様が化粧漆喰で
美しく描かれています。どんな色がついていたのでしょう。(Aug 25, 2008)

Wat Koh Klang / ワット・コ・クラン
What is this ruin? It is called "Pier Marker Chedi" which is located near by Wat Koh Klang, at Pasan district
in Lamphun province. The most recent archaeological dig was done in 2005 at Wat Koh Klung. It seems
Wat was made in late of Haripunchai period(7AD-11AD), but the area is still under active archaeological exploration.
The chedi is a visible symbol for those traveling by river that they are almost at Wat Koh Klung.
Now, we can imagine that a light is made inside the chedi for night traveler.
何でしょう、この廃墟は・・・。ランプーン県パサン郡にあるワット・コ・クラン（「小島寺」）の門前にある遺跡です。
最近（2005年）考古学的発掘が行なわれたワット・コ・クランですが、どうやらハリプンチャイ王朝（7～13世紀）の
後期のものではないかと言う説が今のところ有力です。写真はその門前にある”チェディ・マイ・タ”（「桟橋塔」）と
呼ばれる仏塔です。当時はここまで川の水が流れていて、船乗りに現在地を知らせるための塔だったという事です。
さしずめ、夜は暗い川を行く船乗りのために、仏塔内に灯がともされたのかも知れませんね。

I recommend abstract one than realistic one. Price is from 500baht per picture.
国立ランパン象保護センターでは、象の描いた絵を買う事が出来ます。写実的なものより、

OTOP Bridge / 一村一品運動の橋
OTOP, One Tambon(village) One Product movement shops are gathered on the bridge, which is
located in Lamphun city. Motorcycle lane is made at the both side of the bridge.
ランプーン市内にある一村一品運動の橋です。橋の上にたくさんの地元特産品を売る店が出ています。

Salaa at Run Jon 's restaurant / ルン・ジョン食堂のあずまや
Run Jon(Uncle Jon)'s restaurant at river side has two pretty salaa(arbor).
At the evening, lights will be on and it creates an atmosphere of peace.
川べりのルン・ジョンおじさんの食堂です。素敵なあずまやが２棟建っています。

Chiang Yan Chedi / チアン・ヤン・チェディ
Chian Yan Chedi is a Haripunchai style chedi which was built about 1000 years ago, and it is situated at a school
which is near by Wat Prathat Haripunchai. According to local legend, the chedi was built by the woman who
cooked food for those helping in the construction of the Haripunchai chedi(most biggest) and
Pathumwadee chedi (made by brick).
プラタート・ハリプンチャイ寺横の学校内にあるチアン・ヤン・チェディは、約１０００年前に建てらた、
ハリプンチャイ様式の仏塔です。言い伝えによると、ハリプンチャイ寺のハリプンチャイ・チェディ（一番大きい）や
パトゥワディー・チェディ（レンガ造り）を建築した労働者のために食事を用意していた女性たちが、
この仏塔を建てたといわれています。(May 30, 2008)

Wan Wisakabucha （Buddha's birthday) / 仏陀生誕日
May 19 is Buddha's birthday. Today many people celebrate at Wat Phrathat Haripunchai at Lamphun city.
Photos are from left; ①view in grounds precincts, ②people pour sweet tea into a jar which will be lifted on the chedi,
③On the chedi men sprinkle sweet tea onto the chedi.

Gorgeous Train / 超豪華列車
Eastern & Orient Express has arrived to Chiangmai station. It has beautiful body.
Unfortunately, interior of the train is not able to be seen. Someday, I will be a passenger・・・・.

beside by "NIDA". The name of the course is "Green Hill Golf & Resort", it will open sometime 2008.

The origin Makabucha is connected with that 1250 priests has come to Buddha without any previous notice.
In our village, people go around main building of a temple and prayed.
マカブチャの日は、仏陀のもとに１２５０人の修行僧が何の前触れもなく集まった故事にちなんでいます。

After rice haevesting we have another harvest, it is a straw. A straw will be
feed for cows. Inside bags are cow dung as a fertilizer.

A cooking contest over district was held in our village、at high school. Our village's team has
won the 1st prize! Unfortunately, I have forgotten to try the taste.

VIP Bus / VIPバスです
We took VIP bus from Lamphun to Bangkok in October, 2006.
Photos are, from left, Lamphun bus terminal, shape of the bus and interio of bus,
It is 10hours ride and the fare is approximately 700 baht per way.
ランプーンからバンコクまでVIPバスで行きました。
写真は左から、ランプーン・バス・ターミナル、バスの外観、バス内部です。

Chiangmai Lamphun Road / チェンマイ・ランプーン・ロード
Chiangmai-Lamphun road is an old road between these two cities. At the Chiangmai side for more than 10km,
huge rubber trees are standing, and it should be approximately 1,040 trees. Beautiful winding road is
very much fun to drive, especially by motorcycle.
チェンマイ・ランプーン・ロードはチェンマイとランプーンを古くからつなぐ旧道です。チェンマイ川側１０KM以上にわたって、
巨大なゴムの木が植えられています。其の総数、数えた人によれば約1,040本。

An Extra Issue: Golden Triangle / 番外編：ゴールデントライアングルへ行って来ました
It took 6hour drives one way (approximately ３00km) from Phawana Garden, we have visited Golden Triangle
at the border among Thailand (this side of the photo), Myanmar (left side) and Laos (right side).
The river is Mekon river.
ゴールデン・トライアングルへ行って来ました。パワナガーデンから片道約３００KM, ６時間のドライブです。

Thai Tofu / タイのお豆腐
Thai tofu is much bigger than Japanese one, however taste is exactly same as
Momen tofu. You can buy it at local market.
タイのお豆腐は日本のものよりひとまわり大きいけれども、味は木綿どうふと同じです。

The Main Temple of Wat Chamma Thewi / ワット・チャマテビの本堂
Wat Chamma Thevi enshrines the first ruler of Haripunchai Dyasty, Queen Chmma Thevi.
The main temple is very womanishly decorated. It is located in Lamphun city.
ハリプンチャイ王朝の最初の統治者であるチャマテビ女王を祀っています。本堂はとても
女性的に装飾されています。 ランプーン市内に位置しています。

Wat Phra Buddha Baat Taak Pa / ワット・プラ・ブッダ・バート・ターク・パ
There is a legend that Buddha dried his yellow cloth here. Visitors can pray with putting gold foil leaf
onto foot stpes of Buddha.
ブッダがここでサフラン色の衣を干したという伝説があります。参拝者は、ブッダの足跡に
金箔を捧げ，お祈りします。

A cenotaph / 慰霊塔
This cenotaph was built by ex-Japanese soldier Mr.M.Fujita, at his home in Pasan, for his comrades who fought in Myanmar.
It is 15minutes drive from Phawana Garden.
元日本兵の藤田氏が、パサン郡のご自宅に建立された慰霊碑です。インパール作戦に従軍された戦友のために建立されました。
パワナガーデンから車で15分のところにあります。

Pagoda of Wat Chamma Thewi / ワット・チャマテビの仏塔
The pagoda of Wat Chamma Thewi was built in A.D.755 by Khmer artisans, and its structure is
square Buddha Gaya characteristic as seen in India.Total 60 Buddha imagaes are around the pagoda.
Queen Chamma Thewi, the first ruler of Haripunchai dynasty, became a nun at this temple, and her bones are kept inside pagoda.
Wat Chamma Thewi is located inside Lamphun city.
チャマテビ寺の仏塔は紀元７５５年にクメール人の職人たちにより建立されました。インドで見られる四角いブッダガヤ様式です。
全部で６０体の仏像が配されています。ハリプンチャイ王朝の最初の統治者チャマテビ女王はこの寺で尼僧になり、
遺骨が仏塔内に祭られてあります。 チャマテビ寺はランプーン市内にあります。

Wat Phrathat Haripunchai / プラタートハリプンチャイ寺
Wat Phrathat Haripunchai is located at center of Lamphun city, it was built in 1108 A.D.
The photo is belfry which hung big flat gong casted in A.D.543 at Chiangmai.
プラタートハリプンチャイ寺はランプーン市の中心にあります。西暦1108に当時の王により建立されました。
写真の鐘楼には、西暦543年チェンマイにて鋳造された巨大な平鐘が吊り下げられています。
